Chapter 3 — Cities Against the Sea
Chapter Three — Synopsis
Over the following years, the creatures emerged across Pacific coastlines with increasing frequency. Offshore platforms vanished. Harbor districts collapsed inward beneath enormous force signatures. Entire fishing towns disappeared beneath tidal destruction and black coral spreading unnaturally fast through flooded streets. Humanity responded with astonishing speed, constructing monumental seawalls around every major Pacific city. Neo Busan, Tokyo-Seven, New Manila, San Angeles — all transformed into vertical fortress societies built around colossal anti-climb barriers extending deep into the seabed. Their polished ceramic surfaces curved outward to prevent claw penetration while autonomous rail cannons scanned the horizon endlessly through salt fog and rain.
The architecture of civilization changed completely. Cities no longer opened toward the sea. They turned their backs against it.
